6 healthy tips to keep you glowing all holiday season

Have you ever found that no matter how well you’ve planned, your holiday season gets super busy and you find your self-care starts to sliiiiiiide?

We all know taking care of ourselves keeps us feeling healthy and energetic, and we all want that so we can enjoy our holiday time with family and friends. And most importantly with sparkling eyes and a bright smile your jewelry always looks fabulous!

But it isn’t always easy to know what to prioritize and sometimes tending to your health feels like ‘just one more thing to do.’

As your personal ‘connect with your best life’ guide, I’m here to help!

Ready for my favorite immune-tending tips?

1  - Drink water. Staying hydrated is critical for your health and vitality. My tips: I add a little warm water (from my tea kettle) to a big glass of water in the morning and drink it down - twice! Drinking warm water makes it easier to get down and I start the day well hydrated. I also drink herbal teas throughout the day because they taste great and don’t dehydrate you like caffeinated teas can. I’m also a huge black tea fan but I mix it up. Done and done!

2 - Elderberry syrup. Elderberry is one of the most commonly used medicinal plants in the world. I swear by Elderberry syrup to ward of a cold and take some as soon as I feel one coming on. I also take a teaspoon a day to keep my immune system strong all winter.

3 - Ashwagandha. Ashwagandha is an ancient medicinal herb and it’s traditionally used to help your body manage stress. I take a few drops of a tincture every morning.

4 - Lung Expectorant. Getting stuffy or have the dreaded tickle in your throat? I know it isn’t sexy to talk about, but mucus is no joke and this tincture works as well or better than similar ‘mainstream’ products to help clear that stuff out. Use this along with a neti pot and you’ll head off colds even before they can get started or recover super-fast from one that’s set in.

5 - XLEAR nasal spray. I love this product and use it sort of like a short cut neti pot. It cleans your nasal passages and also helps reduce stuffiness in a jiffy - all helpful for washing away germs and keeping those sensitive tissues healthy.

6 - Fish Oil! My year round must-have supplement. Fish oils have too many health benefits to count. For starters, it is so good for your brain and reducing inflammation in the body.

I hope adding one or more of these tips to your routine, along with enough sleep and regular exercise, helps you stay healthy and glowing all holiday season!

Kristen

pps - My footnote for all of these products is that, as you know, I am not a healthcare practitioner so please do any necessary homework before you consider using any of them. Also, I am not affiliated with any of these brands. I have simply found them through various recommendations and research over the years and they’ve proven themselves to be worthy players in my winter self-care regimen.
